For the past 14 years, Juan Carmona has served as artistic director of the international festival Les Nuits Flamencas, which he founded and which has been held in several cities across France: Cannes (Palais des Festivals), Paris (La Vilette), and Ollioules (Châteauvallon), and later in his hometown in Aubagne.
Since 2015, Juan Carmona, in partnership with the City of Aubagne and Nomades Kultur, has brought an exceptional Andalusian flair through a multidisciplinary flamenco festival of international scope, entirely free and accessible to all, guaranteeing a high-quality program that bridges tradition and modernity, with a focus on gender parity. Designed as a true bridge between cultures and generations, the festival celebrates both the great figures of flamenco and its rising stars in a friendly, festive, and authentic atmosphere.
With its unique concept and high-quality programming, the international festival Les Nuits Flamencas has become the must-attend summer event for all flamenco enthusiasts. The Aubagne edition is the only free international flamenco festival in France.
